Joining a clinical trial Before joining a clinical trial it is a good idea to figure out your rights as a test subject. Every institution that carries out research have a Patients Bill of Rights that covers you as a volunteer in their program. You should read this document before considering to participate in their study. Further every study that receives funding from the Department of Health and Human Services must be approved by an Internal Review Board.
